Calculator

CONCRETE CALCULATOR FORMULA:
(LENGTH X WIDTH X DEPTH) DIVIDED BY 27 =# OF CUBIC YARDS

EXAMPLE:  18 FEET LONG, 18 FEET WIDE,  6 INCHES DEEP
THIS WOULD BE:    (18 X 18 X .5)/27 = 6 CU.YARDS

To use the Concrete Volume Calculator, simply enter the width, length, and thickness of your pour, click on whether you are measuring the thickness in feet or inches, then click on the Calculate button. The calculator will estimate the number of cubic yards of concrete that will be required.

To use the Block Wall Calculator, simply enter the height and length of the wall, click on whether you are filling an 8-inch or 12-inch wall, then click on the Calculate button. The calculator will estimate the number of cubic yards that will be required. Note that this is an estimate. There is significant variation in fill space among different blocks. This calculator assumes the use of double open-ended bond beam blocks.

Cubic Yards Required:

BLOCK
3 Bags Mortar per 100 Block (35 Block per Bag) 1000 Ib. Sand per 100 Block
1.125 Block per sq.ft. of Wall Area
75% of Wall Length give Block per Course
Number of Courses = 1.5 X Height of wall

BRICK

Approx. 7 Bag of Mortar per 1000 Brick
Approx. 1 Ton Sand per 1000 Brick
Figure 7 Brick per Sq. Ft. (Allows for Waste) 4.625 Courses Brick per foot of Wall Height
5 Brick per Sq.Ft. for Pavers, Hearths

CEMENT PLASTER
1/4" Thick (100sq.fl.) 220 Ib. Sand & .8 Bag Mortar
3/8" Thick (lOOsq.ft.) 330 Ib. Sand & 1.2 Bag Mortar
1/2" Thick (lOOsq.ft.) 440 Ib. Sand & 1.6 Bag Mortar

CONCRETE
For 3000 psi: 3-2-1 Mix-1 Ton Gravel, 1/2 Ton Sand,
6 Bags Cement, 1-Portland, 2-Sand, 3-Parts Gravel

WALLTIES
1 per every 10 Brick (100 Wall Ties per 1000 Brick)

ZONOLITE
4 Cu.Ft. Bag Fills Approx. 9-12" Block or 16-8" Block
12" Block yields 11.5 R-value
8" Block yields 7,14 r-value
